CANCELLED: "The Birds" by Aristophanes

Greenberg Theatre
Thursday, Mar 26, 2020 at 8:00 PM (ET)

All University-sponsored public events, both on and off-campus, are suspended through May 5 (the last scheduled day of exams this semester). This includes all Spring 2020 semester public events organized by students, all academic and administrative units, and all external individuals and organizations utilizing campus space for events such as conferences. This is necessary to limit close contact among large groups of people, consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance on social distancing

Patrons who have already purchased tickets to attend concerts or shows at the Katzen Arts Center  or Greenberg Theatre during the impacted time period should expect to see full refunds issued shortly.

First performed in the spring of 414 BC, the story is simple and timeless – humans frustrated with life on earth seek a utopia. They find it in the trees with the birds. And then things get messy and complicated. With a distinct contemporary Greek influence, this production includes songs, dances, the building of an aerial city, fights, flights, marriage, an eventual usurpation, and more.
