AU Chorus and Orchestra collaborate to perform one of Johannes Brahms' most beautiful and well-known choral works, Schicksalslied, as well as other choral works led by Casey Cook. The orchestra will also present Finnish composer Jean Sibelius' Symphony 2.

Tickets: Free for AU students with ID, $10 for alumni, staff, faculty, and senior citizens (55 and older), $15 general admission. 

COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols:

Masks are optional but strongly recommended. N-95, KN-94, or KN-95 masks are especially encouraged.Proof of vaccination or negative PCR COVID-19 test. All guests attending AU events must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the start of the performance, and a photo ID. Learn more.

FREE Tickets for AU Students:

American University students with ID can claim their free tickets by visiting the ticket office at the Katzen Arts Center M-F 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.. We encourage you to reserve tickets in advance. For sold out performances, tickets must be claimed earlier than 10 minutes before the performance or they will be released to the public. Please release your tickets if your plans change by emailing auarts@american.edu up to one day prior to the event. Student tickets are non-transferable and may only be reserved one at a time.

Vaccination Policy

To ensure our patrons’ health and security, as well as the safety of our performers and staff:
American University requires all guests, regardless of age, attending events inside the venue to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, or a negative test taken within 72 hours of the start of the performance.
“Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines. Boosters are strongly recommended.

Mask Update: As of May 23, 2022, masks will be optional in most campus locations. Community members may choose to wear a high-quality mask (KN95 or N95) in any setting or location, based on personal preferences or situations.
