Barbara Wilkinson, pianist
Department of Performing Arts
Tickets: Free for AU students with ID, $10 for alumni, staff, faculty, children, and senior citizens (55 and older), $15 general admission.

Conductor Leopold Stokowski once said, "A painter paints his pictures on canvas. But musicians paint their pictures on silence." Join the American University Chorus as they explore the nature of sound and silence, including a powerful performance of Jake Runestad's “A Silence Haunts Me.”

COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocols: Masks are optional but strongly recommended. N-95, KN-94, or KN-95 masks are especially encouraged. All guests attending AU events must show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of the start of the performance, and a photo ID. Learn more.

American University Students: Click "Log In/Register" above to claim your free ticket. Bring your student ID to the performance. Free student tickets may only be reserved one at a time and are non-transferable. Free tickets must be claimed with your student ID at will call earlier than 10 minutes before the performance starts or they will be released to the public. For questions, contact us.

Vaccination Policy

To ensure our patrons’ health and security, as well as the safety of our performers and staff:
American University requires all guests, regardless of age, attending events inside the venue to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, or a negative test taken within 72 hours of the start of the performance.
“Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines. Boosters are strongly recommended.

Mask Update: As of May 23, 2022, masks will be optional in most campus locations. Community members may choose to wear a high-quality mask (KN95 or N95) in any setting or location, based on personal preferences or situations.
